The EnFlyte Endeavor: July 2024 Newsletter

The EnFlyte Endeavor

July 2024 Edition

Wow! Can you believe it's July?! Sheesh.

For the local triathletes, we're in full swing of competing; some of us have raced and some are quickly approaching peak builds. It's been a wild season thus far with heat waves, hot tub OWS conditions, and interesting race-day weather (did you see the pics from Ironman Mont Tremblant 70.3?!).

For the long-distance runners, fall marathon training should be starting now. It's hard to imagine that as we approach August/September. Those longer runs will land on some hot and humid days. Be ready!

Speaking of interesting, as we sit in some reflection of yesterday's Ironman Happy Valley 70.3, wow, the wind and humidity!

Here's our takeaways:

Jon - Training isn't always going to go how you want it to. Believe in yourself and stay open to the possibility of adjusting expectations.

Christina - It's great to have time-based goals layered with process goals. Be ready to highlight the process goals in those tough moments.

Noteworthy Nuggets

Nutrition

If we've seen one article on nutrition, we've seen 'em all, right?! Not exactly.

Angie is solid. She approaches her practice without judgment, creates a safe space, and works with you to optimize eating for training and recovery.

Angie posted recently on her blog about what to eat before your tri to perform at your best.

In Person is the Vibe

Research in so many sectors shows that we are better together.

When we train together, we improve as athletes.

When we hang together, we create community.

An Emmaus, PA group called the Trip Tees combined both.

Snowshoeing in 2020

The EnFlyte Endeavor December 2024 Edition Holy moly! It's December! Just a few more steps... We've reached the proverbial finishers chute of 2024. To an outsider, endurance sports seem like a selfish and lonely endeavor. This year we were reminded that it's the people who help us be successful. Instead of limiting our circle, we wanted to bring more people in. Our focus is on creating a supportive community, not just another club. We believe 2024 was a podium year for all of us and we look...
